30-Day Personal Devotion Challenge Day 3

Good Morning Church Family – Day 3

Read Colossians 1:5b-8

Devo Thought: There is a lot of deep truth in this passage. We learn from this passage that the Gospel is the very word of truth. We also learn that the Gospel is meant to bear fruit in our lives and in the world around us. But, I want to focus on the man that Paul names in this passage, Epaphras. Paul says that Epaphras is the one who taught the Colossians about the grace of God. He also says that he ministers on their behalf and that he speaks highly of them to Paul and his friends. I want to encourage you to take a minute today and think about who is Epaphras in your life. Who taught you about the grace of God? Who has been a faithful minister on your behalf? The person I think about is my former youth pastor Wade Coleman. Through my high school, he was a faithful presence in my life. He not only taught me about the grace of God, but he modeled it for me week in and week out. He was one of my Epaphras people. I also want you to think about whether there are people in your life right now that you can be Epaphras for. Are there people in your life that you can teach and model the grace of God? Do you have the opportunity to faithfully minister to the needs of someone? If so, I want to encourage you to take those opportunities. God has put those people in your life. Lean in and seize the opportunity. Be Epaphras!

Prayer – Give thanks for the people in our lives who have been Epaphras for us and pray for opportunities to be Epaphras for others.
