We have a great team and are looking to add someone who has a passion for student ministry. Our Student Pastor will oversee all aspects of our student ministry (6th-12th). Job Description
Job Requirements
- Plan and implement a comprehensive strategy for reaching students at Ridgecrest and in our community with the Gospel.
- Communicate regularly and intentionally with parents to foster cooperation in the spiritual development of students.
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for Student Life Groups and other activities.
- Collaborate with Discipleship Pastor to select curriculum used in Student Ministry to ensure Biblical soundness and fit within the overall direction of Ridgecrest.
- Integrate students into missions as a part of Ridgecrest's overall missions’ program.
- Plan and give leadership to student corporate worship opportunities.
- Develop and execute a specific follow-up plan for students who make professions of faith and for guests in Student Ministry.
- Be available to meet with students and/or their families to discuss life issues from a Biblical perspective.
- Lead Ridgecrest to engage on the various school campuses, using existing relationships and developing new ones.
- Work with parents and students to ensure input in the planning process, meeting regularly (at least quarterly) or as needed.
- In cooperation with other staff and volunteers, provide opportunities for Biblically-sound training in parenting-related topics to help facilitate understanding with teens in areas of spiritual, emotional, physical, relational development.
- Supervise Student Ministry employees and volunteers.
- Work closely with other age-level staff to assure smooth transitions between ministry areas and unifying vision (Children to Middle School, Middle to High School, High School to College, etc.).
- Develop an appropriate budget for the functions of the Student Ministry.
- Work with the church staff and other leaders to provide leadership, direction, and vision-casting for the church.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Experience in working with students essential, experience in leading a diverse Student Ministry preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of experience with growing youth programs.
Bachelor’s degree in related field(s). - Master’s degree from a seminary or working toward a similar degree, preferred.
- Understanding and agreement with Baptist Faith & Message.
- CDL or willingness to obtain.

- Love for students of various backgrounds and a desire to connect with them and help them grow.
- Hard working, self-starter with a desire for progress and the ability to see problems and address them.
- A strong leader, able to provide direction and leadership for a large volunteer team.
- Must have an understanding of how student ministry relates to the entire family and/or other ministries.
- Great computer skills and understanding of how technology and social media can be used in student ministry.
- Organization and administration strengths needed.
Good with people, able to constantly recruit new volunteers, train, inspire and encourage them. - Can plan events and/or trips with purpose relating to ministry.
- Able to work with other staff members and collaborate on church-wide projects, seeking to fulfill church’s mission in the community
