Next Step U
Next Step U groups are more specific Bible studies that will focus on marriage, books of the Bible, video series among others. These groups meet for 8 consecutive weeks. Since these groups build on a current topic or study, you are encouraged to join the group at specific times throughout the year and commit to the 8-week series. Salvation
Trusting in God for Salvation is the first and most important step you can make. That happens when you call out to God in prayer, turning away from sin and trusting that Jesus has paid the penalty for your sin and offers forgiveness and eternal life. While there are no magic words, it could go something like this: “Dear God, I know I’ve sinned and it’s separated me from you, but I believe you love me and Jesus died for me and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust in you to give me life. I want to live for you. Thank you, God, for loving me and saving me.â€
Baptism
Baptism is an important part of the Christian faith and a crucial step in the growth and obedience of a Christ-follower. Baptism is a public symbol of a personal decision that someone has made to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We believe in baptism by immersion, which means literally being placed (immersed) in water. While baptism is not a part of or necessary for salvation, we would hope that baptism would come soon after a person has decided to follow Christ as an act of obedience and as an affirmation of their commitment.
Growth
Spiritual Growth is a very broad term and includes several things. We’d like to focus on just a few specific practices as being important steps in personal Spiritual Growth. At Ridgecrest, we believe growth takes place through personal devotions, relational discipleship, and corporate worship. We provide many opportunities to be involved in all three of these areas, as we see the great value each provides in a growing relationship with Jesus.
Serve
Every believer has Spiritual gifts, talents, abilities and resources that are intended to build up the church. We believe that if God has led you to be a part of Ridgecrest, then He has equipped you to serve the ministries of Ridgecrest in some way. We want to equip the members of Ridgecrest to serve in their family, our church, and our community.
Invite
Why do you think most people come to a church for the first time? It’s because someone invites them. Whether it is family member, friend or co-worker, chances are you know someone who does not regularly attend church and may not even have a relationship with Jesus Christ. These are people in our circle of influence. They may come to a Worship Service, Life Group, or special event if you’ll just invite them.
Reach
Now we’re getting to the nitty-gritty of what it means to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ: Reaching Your World. After His resurrection and before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He left His disciples with some clear instructions, known as the Great Commission. We seek to provide opportunities for Ridgecrest members to engage our local, national, and international circles with the Gospel.
